We care about aesthetics, but we care even more about the welfare of your dog!
Our talented groomers are experienced across all kinds of breeds, coats and styles, from practical tidy-ups and breed-specific grooms to cute, creative styles that show off your dog’s personality. But a great groom is about more than looking gorgeous. We use gentle, force-free handling and work with each dog as an individual, adjusting our approach to suit their needs, comfort and confidence. We want every dog to leave looking amazing, feeling comfortable and having had the most positive grooming experience possible. Their welfare will always come first.
Our groomers have completed Fear Free Grooming certification and are experienced in dog body language, gentle handling and recognising signs of stress. We’re also transparent about how we work. We’re not a high-volume salon where dogs are passed between multiple groomers, rushed through appointments or left waiting in crates for hours. Wherever possible, your dog stays with their groomer from start to finish, with the time, breaks and patience they need. Our goal is beautiful grooming without compromising your dog’s comfort, trust or welfare.

Our Grooming Experience
From arrival to pick-up, our focus is on making grooming as calm, comfortable and positive as possible. Every dog is different, so our groomers adjust their handling, pace and approach to the individual dog in front of them. Transparency is motto, so here’s what to expect:
- Check-in: We’ll chat about your dog’s coat, skin, behaviour, grooming history and the style you’re after. Reference photos are preferred for best results.
- One-on-one care: Wherever possible, your dog stays with the same groomer throughout their appointment.
- Bath & prep: Quality products selected for your dog’s coat and skin, followed by gentle drying and preparation.
- Grooming: From practical clips and breed styles to something a little cuter or more creative, our groomers are experienced across a range of styles.
- Breaks when needed: If your dog needs a breather, cuddle, toilet break or simply a moment to reset, we give them one.
- Final check: Nails, ears, coat, comfort and those finishing touches before they head home looking gorgeous.
- Photoshoot: If all on time, a quick snap of your pup looking their best after their transformation in our grooming photobooth.
- Payment and rebooking: Owners will make payment for their groom and rebook their next appointments.
Grooming is Important!
Professional grooming is about much more than aesthetics. Regular grooming helps maintain your dog’s coat, skin, nails and overall comfort, while giving us an opportunity to notice changes you may not spot at home.
- Coat Health: Helps prevent painful matting, tangles and excessive shedding.
- Skin Health: Regular bathing and coat care helps keep skin clean and allows changes to be noticed early.
- Nail Care: Keeping nails at a healthy length supports comfortable movement and paw health.
- Comfort: Removing excess coat, knots and build-up can make a huge difference to how your dog feels.
- Early Detection: We aren't vets, but groomers often notice lumps, bumps, skin changes, sore areas or other things worth mentioning that may have been missed during their every day handling at home.
- Positive Experiences: Gentle, regular grooming can help dogs become more comfortable with handling throughout their lives.

Terms & Conditions
- Cancellations: Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule via text, email or your booking link.
- Deposits: Deposits are non-refundable. At our discretion, they may be transferred to a future booking.
- No Shows: No-shows without contact will be charged the full grooming fee. Deposits will not be refunded or transferred.
- Matting: Additional fees may apply for matting not disclosed or discussed at drop-off.
- Severe Matting: Your dog’s welfare comes first. If severe matting presents a health or welfare concern, our Fear Free trained grooming team may remove the affected coat, including shaving close to the skin, regardless of requested styling.
- Late Arrivals: Late arrival may mean we cannot complete all booked services. The full appointment fee will still apply.
- Photos: We may photograph your dog for marketing purposes. Please email us before your appointment if you do not consent.
- Late Collection: Dogs collected more than one hour after the agreed collection time may incur a $30 late collection fee.
- Medical & Behavioural Information: Please disclose all relevant medical conditions and behavioural concerns. Paws & Relax cannot accept responsibility for incidents resulting from information that was not disclosed.
- Veterinary Care: If emergency veterinary treatment is reasonably required, you authorise us to seek treatment on your behalf and at your expense.
- Accessories: We may provide bows or other accessories after grooming. These may present a choking hazard and should only be worn under supervision.
- Groomer Availability: Appointments may occasionally need to be rescheduled due to illness or unexpected staff leave. We will offer the earliest suitable alternative available but cannot guarantee a specific timeframe.
