$14 889 RAISED FOR RSPCA QLD

Last year I signed up for a unique project which included raising at least $10,000 before May 2019 on behalf of RSPCA QLD. I knew straight away that I wanted to work with Paws & Relax to raise these funds. I knew how supportive and passionate they are about the valuable work that the RSPCA QLD do and how supportive our P&R ‘pawrents’ are, and boy did P&R exceed all expectations!
The ‘catch’ was that each Ambassador was to raise at least $10,000 before May 2019, when we would be whisked away to enjoy a mystery adventure week filmed by the Charity TV Global production crew. The final show is to be broadcast on a major TV network in the fourth quarter of 2019.
After some very extensive consultation with Di, Annie, Tegan and the team (over a few Malteasers boxes and bubbles, of course), we decided to host two high-profile events to help us raise $10 000. The first was Paw-sino Royale in March – our furbaby’s daycare rooms were completely transformed into a glitzy, glamorous casino experience playing host to over 100 P&R supporters. There were live cabaret performances thanks to Archie’s delightful mum (Mel) and her friends from Eunoia Dance Company, soulful jazz music and plenty of laughs as we enjoyed good food, good wine and good company in our very own Paws & Relax casino. We raised thousands from this one event alone, and people couldn’t believe just how stunning our doggy daycare looked! It was certainly a night to remember.
Next up was Paws-Fest – Brisbane’s first 100% non-profit doggy market event. Hosting over 50 doggy business stallholders, the P&R daycare rooms and surrounding carparks saw approximately 2000 people (yes, TWO THOUSAND) visit our little slice of puppy daycare heaven and bring their pooches along for a fun day out. There was plenty of food, presentations, a jumping castle and even a FREE walk-in vet clinic hosted by our friends at Supervets Hendra & Manly West to tempt visitors, and the feedback we received from both stallholders and visitors proved that Paws & Relax is truly a force to be reckoned with when it comes to supporting Brisbane’s dog-loving community.
We couldn’t believe our eyes when we realised we raised over $8500 at Paws-Fest: a staggering amount which, combined with the proceeds from Paw-sino Royale, saw a whopping $14 888.85 donated to RSPCA QLD.
The team at the RSPCA QLD couldn’t believe how much money we raised, which was far more than I could have ever dreamed of. I was so chuffed to be able to donate such a significant sum to animals in need, but importantly I’m also thrilled that I was able to help raise the profile of our pup’s best-kept secret. Paws & Relax are truly ‘the best in the bizz’, and no-one can match their passion, dedication and love for Brisbane’s dog-loving community:
